Waiting On God - a devotional book review

In all areas of life, Christians must key into the ever-present grace of God to be victorious. We must wait upon God putting Him first at all times and in all that we do (Joshua 1:7,8) since we are called to subject all things to the lordship of Jesus Christ - 2 Cor 10:5.
"I had been much impressed by the thought of how, in all our religion, personal and public, we need more of God. It is as if I myself am only beginning to see the deepest truth concerning God, and our relation to Him, centre in this waiting on God, and how very little, in our life and work, we have been surrounded by its spirit. The following pages are the outcome of my conviction, and of the desire to direct the attention of all God’s people to the one great remedy for all our needs." - Andrew Murray (1896)
In the devotional "Waiting On God", Andrew Murray shares thirty-one heartfelt meditations to help renew our vision and quicken our desire to turn to God for His quiet, peaceful strength. Discover how God’s presence and love can refresh the weary heart that learns to wait on Him.

How often the ‘busyness’ of life can creep up and overwhelm us.

Waiting On God - a Christian book review

In this devotional, Andrew Murray shares thirty-one heartfelt meditations, one for each day of the month. And if we are faithful to meditate on these, we are helped to renew our vision and quicken our desire to turn to the Lord for His quiet, peaceful strength.

Rather than depending upon our own strength, as Christians it is our privileged birthright to enter into a daily time of reverent meditation and silence, waiting only upon God for: His answers to our problems, His direction in our lives, and, most importantly, His awesome presence refreshing our spirits and teaching us more about Himself.

Murray’s own prayer was that the Lord would use these meditations “...to draw all to Himself, to learn in practice and experience the blessed art of waiting only upon God.”
