The True Light of CHRISTmas - a poem

THE TRUE LIGHT OF CHRIST-MAS

As the year gradually winds down, there is a season that it, inevitably, must pass through. A season some see as a period for merriment with drinks freely flowing, stomachs bursting with food and legs never getting tired of dancing to the many music tunes that envelope us at this time. Many will because of much indulgence during this period descend into numerous types of wild pleasures.

For some others, however, this season is a time for sober reflection of the true meaning of the period, a time to ponder the past and the present while meditating on how this season relates to a glorious future, a time to judge themselves rightly and reorder their steps, if need be, toward a firmer path. For you, my good friend, what does this season mean?

This poem below, dwells on the true reason for the season in which we are. Notwithstanding the beautiful lights we see decorating our environments all over at this time, it tells of the much more beautiful and glorious light of the season which burns without ceasing. And as Deborah has rightly put it, "Jesus, is the world's light; all darkness, He came to diffuse."

Enjoy the poem! And merry Christmas to you!!

The True Light of CHRISTmas

The true light of the season,
isn't wrapped around our trees
the true light of the season
isn't hanging from our eaves.

The true light of the season,
isn't put up, only once a year
the true light of the season
isn't part of our Christmas gear.

The true light of the season,
never burns out or blows a fuse
the true light of the season
isn't part of the holiday ruse.

The true light of the season,
cannot be put away or stored
for, the true light of the season
is the Babe, the Christ, our Lord.

Jesus, is the world's light,
all darkness, He came to diffuse
and love, hope, peace and joy
in your life, He wants to infuse!

Bible verse for meditation
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying,
I am the light of the world:
he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness,
but shall have the light of life. (John 8:12)
